What Can I DO?

Tell people what you learned about whales from the presentation, a whale watch, or what you read.

Reduce your use of plastic. Reuse items that you purchase. Recycle everything you can. (While recycling is important, try REDUCING first!)

Large container ships are threats to whales. The more we buy products from the US, the less the whales will be impacted by vessel noise and potential strikes. (To get an idea of size of this vessel, the small boat in the left side of the picture is 50 ft. long.

Monterey Bay Aquarium has a program called Seafood Watch, which categorizes seafood into best choice, better alternative and avoid. Search the website or download the app. Can you make choices from the BEST list all the time?

The Save Right Whales Act is ready for discussion in the House and Senate. Contact your reps and tell them that right whales are important and they need protection. Click here to link to a ready-to-go letter!
