Our Form & Function program is designed just for 4th graders and brings whale adaptations to life. Students rotate through four engaging, hands-on stations that explore how different parts of a whale help it survive in its ocean environment. It’s a perfect match for the NGSS focus on structure and function—and a big hit with students and teachers alike!
Students discover how blubber keeps whales warm, how baleen and teeth help them eat, and how their bodies are built for life in the ocean.
This program does not involve the inflatable whale. Instead, small groups move through interactive activities including the blubber glove, feeding demonstration, evolution card sort, and estimating and measuring.
Each session lasts one hour and works best in a flexible space where students can move easily between stations.
Fill out the form, and we’ll be in touch to plan an unforgettable experience for your students! We’ll also work with you ahead of time to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day of the visit. Mention that you are interested in the Form and Function Program!
